One of the things parents will often do with their children (at least I hope they do) is to look them in the eye and ask, “Do you know how much I love you?” The child should then reply, “How much?” at which point the parent lifts their arms as high and wide as they can and says “So much!” I’ve heard it said that when God played this game with his children that he opened his arms on a cross as he said “so much.” That’s what this verse is all about, the “so much” of God’s love. It is what Christianity is all about. It is what life is all about. With all we don’t understand about God and life, we can understand this “so much.” Where is God’s “so much” in your life this week?
