2 Corinthians 6:3 we put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. (NIV)
There is a maxim that goes, “lead, follow, or get out of the way.” I think Paul is saying here that sometimes he has to be conscious of not getting in the way of what God is doing. Is it possible that we actually make it harder for others to connect with God? Do we talk about grace but then criticize and gossip? Do we say God is good then whine and complain? Do we extol the virtues of love but express anger and resentment? Do we proclaim mercy then set up a list of rules and expectations of our own making that we require others to follow? This week can we just concentrate on letting the Good News (i.e. Gospel) be good news for us and others?
