Galatians 2:20- It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (The Message Bible)

Many years ago when I was a youth pastor we did things with kids that were adventurous like rappelling, parasailing, ropes courses and the like. These were fun but that’s not why we did them. They all had an element of trust involved. Do you trust the ropes to hold you as you lean back off the rock face? For most kids (and adults) there was some fear involved but the point was taken; trust is not something you just talk about but it is something you experience by putting into action. Paul said his life was not his own but was lived trusting “the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Who are you trusting with your life? What would it mean for you to say this week “the life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith.”
