Luke 1:76 And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him.
Three days until Thanksgiving. I enjoy talking with people about their plans for the holidays. Some people tell me they will only have a small group for dinner and then when I ask how many they respond, “oh, only about 10.” Now that seems like a lot to me, but not to everyone. There is just so much preparation to put together a Thanksgiving dinner with cleaning and shopping and cooking and coordination. In the passage above John the Baptist’s father is saying that his son will prepare the way for the Messiah. As you do all your preparations this week and throughout the holiday season how will you prepare for what God will do in your hearts and lives this year?
