Exodus 3:11-12 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”

Do you see what is happening here? Moses wants some assurance that this thing he is being asked to do will work out alright. God says, “You’ll see after it is over.” In the meantime Moses has the promise of God’s presence.  That’s the way life works. It isn’t my idea but it is what I’ve experienced and heard others say they have experienced. We know what God wants, from loving our spouse to telling the truth to being generous. We want to know that if we do these things that our life will be ok/better/successful. We want assurance. We are told to trust and promised that if we do God will be with us and we will see the results down the line. It’s called faith. Moses had to learn it. We have to learn it. This week, where are you being asked to proceed by faith?
