Luke 2:15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
Are you traveling this Christmas? “Nearly one in three Americans will take a trip this holiday season, with 100.5 million expected to journey 50 miles or more from home,” says the AAA article I read online. Much easier to call on the phone and now, with Skype and Facetime, a video chat kind of gets you face to face without moving all those miles. It is great to share news and images through video and pictures so why sit in traffic or wait in airports? I guess there is something about sharing the same space, breathing a common air, having the potential for physical touch that is worth the effort. I guess that is one reason we celebrate Christmas; that God would share our space as one of us, be a baby like we all once were, cross the distance to connect. Humans often feel alone, disconnected, on our own. Christmas says it’s just not so. This year how will you go “and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
