Romans 8:35 Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture. (The Message Bible)

What are you afraid of? You no doubt have a list in the back of your mind somewhere even if you only become aware of it when something prods an item to the front of your consciousness occasionally. Death is always a big one, either your own or a loved one’s. Shame in a bunch of forms. Guilt. Pain. Various modes of abuse. Guess what? The Apostle Paul knew all of these! And still he was able to make the above statement. And he is not alone. History records and individual knowledge reveals others who claim to have had a similar experience. Whatever you have dealt with in your past, whatever you encounter today, whatever you may confront in your future, the promise of Christianity is that not only will God be there but that God’s love will be there. This week, what separates you from the love of Christ? Could the answer really be “nothing?”
