Matthew 25:25 “I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.”

This is part of a story about three servants and what they did with gold that their master entrusted to them. The whole story is in Matthew 25:14-30. It’s really all about money but because I’ve been dealing with some other stuff I began thinking about what else people burry because they are afraid. Sometimes we bury our feelings, both good and bad, because were fear they will be marginalized or demeaned. Sometimes we bury our hope, because we have been disappointed in the past. Sometimes we bury our faith because we are afraid to fail. The point of the story is to use what you’ve been given by God faithfully and daringly. Yes, that includes money. But this week think also which of God’s gifts have you buried because you were afraid.
