Matthew 24:36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

This is a pretty astounding verse as it says, from Jesus himself, that there are some things only God the Father knows. If you have a smart phone you carry around with you all the accumulated knowledge of the human race. I’m sure it is all on there somewhere if you just know how to access it. Between Google and Wikipedia I can pretty much find out anything I need to know- except the things a child thinks or the touch of the wind on my skin or the hold of hope on my heart. Not everything can be summed up in a formula or given a dictionary definition. I don’t know what the above verse is really all about but I’m glad it reminds me that I am part of the great mystery of God and God’s creation. And isn’t that what Advent is all about, admitting there is much we don’t know and so we keep alert for what might become? I’m going with that this year. How about you?
