Romans 6:22 But now that you’ve found you don’t have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way! (The Message Bible)

Do we really listen to sin? You bet we do! It takes a lot of forms and we seldom call it sin, but we have all those voices telling us various things. They may be voices from a parent or other adult or peer who told you that you were lazy or not very bright or fat or weird or whatever. Even as adults we let these messages we heard as kids keep speaking to us, at least at times, and we too readily accept them as true and try to fix ourselves- which we seldom can. Paul had a lot of guilt he could have carried with him and listened to. He learned that because of Christ he didn’t have to, and neither do you. You not only can listen to God tell you that you are precious and loved and worth dying for (you can hear this in the Bible and in church and from others who are listening to God also) but you can be the voice of God declaring these things to others. You don’t have to listen to sin. You don’t have to pass along sin’s messages. You can be the megaphone of God. This week, will you?
