Romans 11:34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?”
When is the last time God came to you for advice? Might the answer be never? I wonder why that is. Most of us have a lot to say about the way things ought to be. We think we know, often better than God himself, what should happen in a given personal situation or in the course of world events. Paul had an issue he had struggled with regarding the nation of Israel (see the first part of chapter 9). The questions above are not originally his but a quote from Isaiah 40:13. Seems like people throughout the centuries have wondered why God does things the way they are done. I guess it is OK to wonder because wondering can lead to awe and awe to worship. God doesn’t ask us for advice. God asks us for love and trust. This week, which will you give to God?
