Mark 1:33 Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.
So, there was a big football game last night. We heard all about what a special team this was and how close everyone is, how they have each other’s backs. Why would anyone want to be part of any other team? Well, the reality is that the team members that will become free agents will probably command a greater salary than the Eagles can pay and stay under their salary cap. I hope some may take less to remain with the team but they may feel that it is more important for their careers to take the best offer. Can Nick Foles and Carson Wentz both be on the same team now? In the verse above Jesus tells the disciples it is time to move on even though there were still many people to heal and preach to right where they were. Jesus was looking at the bigger picture, the Kingdom of God and the story of redemption. We may not always understand why God does what God does. We only see a limited part of the picture, the one we are closest to and affects us the most. God has a much wider perspective. Faith is finding ways to move ahead trusting in that wider perspective. Why do you think Jesus came? This week, how can you be part of that bigger picture?
