Luke 24:32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
Some of you no doubt have heartburn today from all the eating you did on Easter Sunday, but that is, of course, not what the folks in the above passage were talking about. They had met the risen Jesus as they walked along the road and he explained the story of the messiah to them. Another Easter has now come and gone. We have heard the story again if it filtered through the egg hunts and the flowers and the family get-togethers. But was there something, anything, that made your heart burn as you heard it this year? Something, anything that left you different than you were before? If so, tell someone (you can always reply to this post and tell me!). If not, well, we celebrate Easter every Sunday. May you get a good case of heartburn this year.
