Lenten Soup Supper
Thank you to everyone who has attended the soup suppers, made soup, and/or donated to the mission project for IMA World Health.
Our final supper of the season is on Wednesday, April 3rd. We are pleased to have Julia Mooney who will share with us information on “Confronting the Tyranny of Fashion.” Julia is an Audubon resident and a middle school teacher in Moorestown. She committed to wearing the same dress for 100 days to be deliberate in her focus on consumerism. Her endeavor made national news and she appeared on Good Morning America last fall. Julia has very interesting facts to share on how clothing clogs landfills and even well-intended donations to people overseas impact their local markets. It is also a fitting (no pun intended) way to show how our Thrift Store is an excellent example of how people can reuse and repurpose items so they don’t end up in the trash and how we can be better stewards of our environment.
Also, during Lent, Fellowship Methodist Church in Haddon Heights, at 7th and Garden Streets has been having Lenten Lunches with devotions.. The next lunches are on April 3 and 10 at noon. An offering will be taken to cover the cost of the lunch. Area pastors will take turns presenting the program after lunch.
